Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 lb lean ground beef patty (or plant-based alternative)
- 1 large egg
- 1 slice cheddar cheese
- 1 whole brioche bun (or whole wheat bun)
- 1 tbsp mayo or sriracha (or Greek yogurt spread)
- Optional: 1 small portion hash browns
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Shape the ground beef into a 1/2 lb patty and season with salt and pepper.
- Grill or pan-sear the patty over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes per side.
- Fry one egg sunny-side-up or over-easy using minimal oil.
- Lightly toast the brioche bun.
- Stack the cooked patty, cheddar cheese, and egg on the bun.
- Add sauce or spread of your choice.
- Serve immediately. Optional: Add hash browns on the side or in the burger.
Notes
For fewer calories, use a 1/3 lb patty, swap mayo with mustard or Greek yogurt, or serve open-faced. Great with a fresh salad instead of fries. You can also try scrambled tofu in place of the egg for a vegan twist.
