Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb Certified Angus Beef, 80/20 grind
- Salt & freshly ground black pepper
- Sharp cheddar cheese slices
- Caramelized onions
- Garlic aioli (or chipotle mayo/dijon mustard)
- Brioche or pretzel buns
Instructions
- Divide the 80/20 ground Certified Angus Beef into 6‑oz patties, handling gently.
- Season both sides simply with salt and pepper.
- Preheat grill to medium‑high.
- Grill patties 4–5 min per side for medium doneness (160 °F internal temperature); adjust time for desired doneness.
- In the last minute, top each patty with a slice of sharp cheddar; close lid to melt.
- Toast buns lightly on the grill.
- Assemble burgers: bun, patty with cheese, caramelized onions, garlic aioli, and top bun.
- Let burgers rest 3 min before serving.
Notes
Don’t press patties while grilling to retain juices. Rest burgers for 3–5 minutes before serving. Keep toppings simple and high‑quality to highlight the beef’s rich flavor. Swap in smoked gouda or blue cheese, and try brioche or pretzel buns for extra gourmet flair.
